The Company:
Our client is a Major International EPC Company executing industrial mega-projects in Canada.

This opportunity is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents only. First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Role:
• Completion of design related to the balance of plant equipment and system for the powerhouse complex.
• Design and production of electrical 3D model of the powerhouse and annexed installations.
• Design and production of electrical 2D drawings as required.
• Coordination with civil and mechanical disciplines for equipment, cable tray layout

Planning and Organization
• Plan and deliver quality work on timely basis.

Engineering Operations
• Production of drawings as required and as directed by Lead Electrical Engineer.
• Participation in review of contractor and vendor submissions.

Quality Assurance
Ensure that the quality of deliverables produced are in accordance with project and corporate requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience as electrical designer.
• Experience in heavy power electrical industries, preferably with electrical utilities powerhouses.
• Experience in medium voltage (25 kV, 15 kV) and low voltage installations.
• Proficient with ACAD software design environment.
• Knowledge of electrical symbols, experience with equipment layout, cabling BOM, etc
• Familiarity with 3D software for industrial design would be an asset.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personnel, and other industry participants, both internal and external;
• Thrives to be an active team player, but can effectively work independently;
• Proven skills in effectively managing multiple tasks, often under pressure and within time constraints;
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills required to effectively interact with a variety of industry personnel;
• Ability to develop processes and articulate within the project organization;
• Ability to quickly assimilate new data, including highly technical information;
• Strong ability to use Microsoft applications such as word, excel, outlook, power point, etc.
