The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineer or Scientist to join the automotive catalyst testing team in our European technological centre of excellence. We are looking to recruit a talented individual to supervise R&D testing operations on our state of the art test rigs and manage a small team of Engineers. Your primary responsibilities will be to:

- Manage day to day testing operations ensuring that your customers' requirements are met and that testing time is optimised through effective and efficient management of the resources at your disposal.
- Manage a small team of Engineers; training, coaching and developing your team, driving personal and professional development, and promoting a positive working environment.
- Provide technical support and guidance to your team and your customers.
- Drive continuous improvement in all areas of laboratory operations.
- Plan and manage short and medium term projects including upgrades to the facility.
- Ensure that your team and all users of the laboratories adhere to all EHS rules and requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree, or equivalent qualification, in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering / Chemistry or a similar technical discipline.
- Have relevant experience working in a testing environment or in the field of automotive emissions control.
- Have demonstrable experience of managing staff, including performance management and personal development of your employees, and of managing and developing successful and cohesive teams.
- Have the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from complex scientific data.
- Be a team player with a proactive and flexible approach to achieving results whilst maintaining excellent quality standards, and have excellent attention to detail.
- Be a competent and confident decision maker
- Have good written and verbal communication skills, with significant experience using IT software packages (MS Word and Excel).
