A major, international oil and gas company.

The Role:
This is an exciting new role created to support the Chief Engineer in the commercialisation of the Nexcel hardware. Nexcel was introduced as one of the most significant oil change innovations in automotive history during October 2015. Since the launch, we have received a significant amount of interest from vehicle manufacturers to implement the system.

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for developing the electrical systems included in the Nexcel system. The successful candidate will manage and lead an external electrical design team, formulate and deliver the testing programme and be responsible for achieving the electrical programme timelines.

The specific responsibilities for this role are:

• Develop a strong technical relationship with the OEM
• Act as the electronics interface for all project activities with the OEM
• Manage and design electrical testing activities relevant to this project - These tests will include use of hardware in-the-loop and software in-the-loop rigs
• Apply engineering science to inform designs and to perform root cause analysis of design failures
• Maintain and use failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)

The role will allow the individual to build on their proven automotive electrical systems knowledge, and provides an exciting opportunity to work in a start-up environment whilst being embedded within the larger business.


Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role:

• Successfully manage the electrical integration of electronic oil pumps, oil level and quality sensors, bespoke processing boards, controllers and control software into a production vehicle
• Implement bespoke software into automotive CAN / LIN interfaces
• Oversee preparation of vehicle electrical circuit schematics
• Manage the design and manufacture of Nexcel system wiring harnesses, sensors and circuit boards
• Specify and select electrical components including sensors, connectors and controllers
• Comply with and help define the electronic APQP and PPAP requirements for the Nexcel system
• Integrate Nexcel electrical components into existing vehicle systems
• BOM preparation and coordination with manufacturers and suppliers
• Manage and deliver successful component testing activities to meet OEM and Nexcel specifications
• Develop and maintain electronic FMEAs for the Nexcel Technology
• Achieve compliance with the relevant electronic standards
