The Role:
The Materials Engineer will provide technical expertise and support to the project diciplines, performing extensive following up of the project procurement packages (mechanical, bulk, valves, etc.),
Following up of Contractors implementation of project requirements
Review of Technical requirements for procurement packages
Attendance of Kick-off meetings and Pre-Fabrication meetings
Review of Inspection and test plans, and perform Witness and Hold point inspections in accordance with the approved Inspection & Test Plans
Review of certificates and procedures(Materials, Welding, Coating, NDT and operator qualifications i.e. welders qualifications and painter qualifications)
Monitor Suppliers’ and Contractor’s quality assurance and quality control activities
Perform quality assessment and verification activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
Provide input as requested into the Management weekly and monthly reports.
Lead by example and ensure that Detnor HSE&Q policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to in all phases of the work.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Higher Education, MSc or BSc in Materials Technology and Metallurgy
FROSIO certified
International Welding engineer
Less formal education may be compensated by documented relevant experience
8-10 years experience from offshore EPC-projects
Extensive experience with quality assurance and following up of procurement packages
Working knowledge and experience with Norwegian offshore engineering & construction codes and standards such as the Norsok M-series, ASME IX / ASME B31.3, ISO 15156 etc.
Extensive experience with Norsok M-650 requirements
Fluent in English, verbal and written
Regulatory competence for the petroleum industry

Prepared and willing to travel and commute
