The Company:
We are currently looking for a Senior Powertrain Calibration Engineer for one of our automotive clients in Essex.

The Role:
Lead powerpack system development X-carline and X-engine, maximizing commonality & efficiencies Lead setting & tracking of engine out emissions targets. Understanding the attribute trade-offs Lead setting & tracking of exhaust hardware & sensor targets. Lead setting & tracking of DPF regeneration targets (Temperatures, oxygen, soot burn rates) Lead setting & tracking of software targets and delivery of appropriate software drops Lead development of CAE tools to allow upfront analysis of trade-offs and engine & vehicle status vs targets (Oil dilution, blocked DPF's, FE impact, warranty costs) Lead powerpack system development X-carline and X-engine, maximizing commonality & efficiencies Lead setting & tracking of engine out emissions targets, understanding the attribute trade-offs Lead setting & tracking of exhaust hardware & sensor targets Lead setting & tracking of DPF regeneration targets (Temperatures, oxygen, soot burn rates) Lead setting & tracking of software targets and delivery of appropriate software drops Lead development of CAE tools to allow upfront analysis of trade-offs and engine & vehicle status vs targets (Oil dilution, blocked DPF's, FE impact, warranty costs) Lead robust sign-off and development of DVP & completion of powerpack DVP's Release emissions system calibration to lead calibration engineer to support appropriate vehicle program gateways. Educate & coach wider team regarding emissions system requirements & details DPF Supervisor Lead Dyno Calibration.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Proven track record of delivering a Diesel direct injection development program. Proven track record of management of development projects in an engineering environment. Understanding and practical knowledge of quality tools (e.g. Six Sigma and DOE). Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink and other CAE tools. Detailed knowledge of diesel control systems ideally Bosch or Siemens, but other EMS would be considered. Detailed knowledge of Diesel Engine combustion and Diesel aftertreatment systems. Knowledge of project management tools and techniques. Ability to motivate, influence, and manage people effectively. Works well under pressure and capable of working with minimal supervision. Well developed interpersonal, organisational, facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to interact with a varying set of customers both internal and external.
