The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Supporting Engine Development, the Senior Engineer - Supplier Quality is responsible for Quality planning activities for all bought in parts, maturation in line with design specification and approval of parts and completion of 2DP process
Technical support on complex Supplier Quality issues including KAF, Production and Field
Drive quality improvements at external suppliers to ensure Product Quality targets are achieved
Ensure the company has the right information related to supplier quality performance to nominate suppliers that achieve group quality standards, this role Senior Engineer Supplier Quality Role, supporting Engine Development

Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery of Parts Quality planning tools in line with project gateways
Lessons learnt
Risk assessments of parts content
Facilitation and reporting of QTR activities
Application of Quality planning tools QPN-i
2. Part Maturation, Approval and Capacity analysis
Conduct approval process with support from other functions where required
Meisterbock process including management of suppliers and parts through process
Problem management with supply base
Conduct and report 2DP in line with Quality plan
3. Achieve Quality targets on pre series & series vehicle (Audit, DPV, Aftersales)
Drive actions to achieve targets on Product Quality issues
Identify risks against targets and escalate
Drive actions to achieve targets on QMM warranty / PDI issues
4. Drive supplier improvement & Problem solving
Monitor supplier performance measures
Drive supplier improvement initiatives
Support the supplier nomination process
Solves problems using recognised techniques to establish root cause and containments
Deliver effective presentations
5. Deputise for the Supplier Quality Manager where required
Support Supplier Quality Manager with the management of key deliverables within the team related to meeting the business requirements
Support Supplier Quality Manager with key operational activities as required

Bachelor's degree qualification or higher in an engineering field or HNC / HND in an engineering discipline with extensive relevant experience
Associate membership of a relevant professional institution
Driving licence

Previous Experience

Significant experience and knowledge of Engineering across multiple commodities or as a specialist in one commodity
Significant experience in automotive supplier quality management either at a supplier or OEM and deemed an expert
Demonstrable track record and significant experience of management systems and processes to mature parts and resolve technical problems related to parts quality from suppliers
Significant experience and demonstrable track record of quality planning and deemed an expert
Track record of delivery QA standards related to parts QA against time & cost constraints
Computer literate with excellent presentation skills to board level
Can motivate and influence others to change including senior management & senior management at suppliers
Can communicate convincingly and professionally to board level within Company & at suppliers
Can direct others in the team to conduct tasks and can coach others with regards to technical issues


Practical knowledge and experience in multiple commodities (Electrical etc..) or a specialist in one commodity
Demonstrable application of quality techniques, including (but not limited to):
Analytical techniques, including statistical process control, Process capability, including ability to train others
Complex or advanced problem solving (e.g. 6-sigma, DoE, Global 8D, Kepner Treygoe, DMAIC).
Understanding of Quality planning tools (e.g. APQP)
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
IT skills including Microsoft Office and custom applications
German language skills
