The Role:
The water treatment and integration specialist is expected to be able to provide:
- Water Masterplanning studies for greenfield projects and brownfield sites
- Provide operational and structural water system improvement options to clients and deliver solutions. This work includes site visits as well as desk studies.
-Support with process water integration know-how specific process or engineering skill groups and work together with these specialists to deliver and optimal solution to the customer.
- Provide technical expertise in the field of oil/ water separation, desalting, biological and other water treatment processes
- Provide technical expertise in the field of boiler feed water preparation
- Design biological and physical/chemical water treatment facilities, integrated water systems and re-use schemes
- Provide technical expertise in the area of produced water treatment and water preparation for water flooding, EOR
- Support projects and other clients with water footprint analysis and water quality technical knowhow for environmental developments ( legislation etc.)
- Training.
- Guidance to technology development, design practices and procurement standards.
- Technical Assurance for projects and services within the field of water.
- Technology development and innovation activities in this field.

The Water Treatment and Integration specialist is expected to have knowledge to mastery level (dependent on job group) in the key discipline area competencies as indicated below:
-Water treatment processes ( incl boiler feedwater) and water master planning
-Effluent water treatment
- Sound understanding is required on cooling water systems.

The specialist shall also have knowledge to mastery level (dependent on job group) in key competencies as per below:
- Process knowledge specifically of main processes in refineries, chemical plants and upstream facilities
- Delivers Results & Champions Customer Focus
- Analyses & Solves Problems - Champions customer and stakeholder focus and building of a shared vision
- Maximises business opportunities
- Displays interpersonal effectiveness

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Water Treatment and Integration Specialist should preferably have an academic degree or equivalent in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Dependent on Job Group you should have 0-10 years of professional experience in the oil and chemical industry or in other energy intensive industries.
The Specialist is expected to have a sound background in (process) engineering
Successful experience working as part of a team, self motivated to learn.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to listen well.
Results oriented. Customer focused.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and /or operational/design experience with upstream facilities, produced water treatment, water generation for water flooding and enhanced oil recovery is appreciated
