The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor who will be the focal point for coordination of the laboratory inter-calibration project and will support AGT Region goal of ensuring that the change in laboratory service providers does not result in untenable data. The Senior Environmental Advisor will provide specialist advice and required support to the Environmental Specialists Team And Regional RC&E Director assisting in delivery of the business objectives and tasks in line with legal requirements and Group standards.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Maintaining consistency and comparability of data, especially of the long-term ambient monitoring program
Identifying strong reliable and trackable trends between compared data
Determine correlations between the analytical techniques used by laboratory service providers
Maintaining temporal consistency and comparability of data
Ensuring implementation of standardized procedures and quality control systems (such as ISO9001, ISO17025 and GLP) based on Client AGT Region requirements
Providing comparability of data among laboratories that conduct the same tests
Managing the risks of transitioning to a new laboratory service provider and determining and implementing relevant mitigation actions
Identifying appropriate additional experts to mitigate the lab issue risks
Conducting a detailed methodological comparison highlighting areas where data quality may be compromised
Recommending methods that could benefit from being adapted/modified or developed to improve comparability of data.
Oversee an inter-laboratory comparison study to compare and assess the difference between the datasets reported by different laboratories.
Identify analyses of concern where results appear to be outside the range expected, and recommended further investigation.
Identify sources of laboratory results incomparability and implement remedial action to achieve congruent data.
Support Environmental Monitoring Program of AGT Region, as required
Provide other required environmental support, as per requests

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the international Environmental Lab Services
Strong knowledge in laboratory work/methodology/QA&QC issues related to Oil & Gas Industry
MSc or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science (Biology/Chemistry/Hydrogeology focus)
IEMA Membership or equivalent would be beneficial.
Strong communication and team work skills. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with and effectively influence laboratory personnel and management
Strong technical and analytical skills regarding results of chemical/biological analytical tests and their implications on determining potential environmental impacts
Ability to provide innovative and effective solutions to complex business issues
Willing to take the lead, self motivated and high performer who works well in a team environment
Demonstrated track record in environmental laboratory management with particular focus on quality control and data management and analysis.
