The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, seeks expertise for offshore mega-projects in Canada.

First consideration will be given to residents of Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Role:
• Maintain close engagement with Company and EPC contractor engineering, construction, site services and marine operations teams in order to keep informed of site work plans and to provide ER&S leadership, advice and support.
• Provide leadership and support to the Project’s BTPO team’s development of key E&R related plans including Environmental Protection Plan, Spill Response Plan, Environmental Effects Monitoring Plan, Compliance Monitoring Plan, Waste Management plan and Chemical Management Plan.
• Maintain interface with Production HSE group to coordinate and support preparation of regulatory applications (e.g. Operations Authorization application) and associated E&R supporting documents/plans.
• Steward implementation of Environmental assessment (EA) / Comprehensive Study Report (CSR), Development Plan and other regulatory commitments relevant to offshore activities.
• Monitor EPC Contractor implementation of Bull Arm Environmental Protection Plan and relevant EA/CSR commitments and obligations.
• Provide overall leadership for environmental, socioeconomic and emergency preparedness and response issues (as they relate to spills) associated with Bull Arm construction activities.
• Provide guidance and leadership to EPC contractor ER&S teams to ensure effective liaison with local government agencies.
• Support implementation of Project OIMS Systems 6-1 Environmental Management and 4-2 Regulatory Compliance.
• Lead planning and execution of internal and contractor compliance assessments.
• Provide input to the development of ER&S related Coordination Procedures.
• Support Project’s engagement/interface with Regulatory Authorities and Environmental NGO groups.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess a University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Engineering or some other technical field related to E&R management.
• 10+ years broad-based experience preferred, with prior broad technical and environmental skills and a working knowledge of project management, construction and operations.
• Knowledge and/or experience in the areas of offshore oil & gas operations and facilities construction.
• Experience working environmental and regulatory issues related to offshore oil & gas development.
• Working knowledge of NL offshore regulatory regime – processes and requirements.
• Experience interacting with external groups – Regulatory Authorities and NGOs.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to independently assess potential ER&S issues.
• Must be flexible, and provide a high level of support in a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to understand and interact with diverse groups
