The Role:
- Due to an increasing workload with their Infrastructure and Environment group, they are seeking the services of a Senior or Principal Environmental Scientist (Ecologist) for their Brisbane (CBD) office.

- The successful applicant will be required to assess and report on terrestrial ecological (fauna, flora and vegetation) matters and subsequently undertake impact assessment and development of environmental strategies.
- You will also be responsible for the performance of projects assigned to both in terms of technical capability and also commercial performance of the project.
- The position is based in Brisbane, Queensland, and is part of their Northern Operations, which primarily services Queensland, Northern Territory PNG and New Caledonia.
- Northern Operations staff also participate in interstate and international projects, allowing their people to work on major projects, gain broad experience and is facilitated through effective networking with other regions and ‘work sharing’ of resources.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- A good understanding of key relevant Acts including: Environmental Protection Act 1994, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act, Vegetation Management Act 1999 and Coastal Management and Protection Act 1995.
- Analytical and practical ecological skills.
- Experience in working in isolated and remote areas.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Significant experience with terrestrial ecology and environmental management.
- Excellent team coordination and communication skills.
- Consulting and client management skills.
- A proven track record of coordinating personnel and technical sub-consultants.
- A proven track record of excellence in the Environmental Sector.
- Environmental science or environmental engineering degree, or equivalent.
