Currently we are seeking a Senior Geophysicist for their Gulf of Mexico team.

This client offers a terrific total rewards package, including generous stock options, a potential to bonus twice per year, flexible 9/80 schedules and extensive training through the Nautilus program.

The Role:
This position will be responsible for the identification and evaluation of Impact Exploration opportunities, as well as assisting in evaluation of the exploration potential of Business Development projects. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of Countries, Basins and structural settings/plays. Experience in international locations and with foreign companies and governments are essential.

The position will require an ability to carry out thorough prospect evaluations and risk mitigation through an analysis of all petroleum system elements. Applicants must be proficient in seismic interpretation and visualization applications. Additionally, the position will require interfacing with other team members and Upstream Technology to ensure an integration of all data (seismic, gravity & magnetic, well data, and regional studies) is accomplished in completing evaluations.

The position will require a wide range of interpretation techniques and the integration of these results within a geologic framework. He/she should have an understanding of current imaging technology, its benefits, and its limitations. He/she will be familiar with the full range of depth conversion methodologies. In addition the position requires coordinating the geologic analysis with those from the engineering and economic analysis departments. The job requires that these be merged into a complete opportunity evaluation, with the ultimate outcome being the value proposition for the client

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Candidates with 15+ experience
• Recent GOM experience
• Extensive understanding of sub-salt Plays in the Gulf of Mexico
• Strong background in exploration, with expertise in seismic interpretation and prospect generation/evaluation
