The Role:
Our clients Exploration New Business team is seeking an experienced Exploration Geophysicist to work on a variety of projects as part of the Basin Evaluation and Acreage Capture team. The role covers all steps of new venture evaluation including technical assessment of prospective fairways, plays and prospects and their resource potential and risk, acreage evaluation and recommendation in the bid rounds, farm-outs and direct negotiations.

Responsibilities:
• Interpretation and integration of seismic data for basin and play fairway projects; evaluation of seismic attributes and AVO anomalies, depth
conversion of seismic
• Provide guidance and leadership on basin, play and prospect ranking
• Identify, evaluate and recommend high quality prospective assets through participation in licensing rounds and farm-ins, with detailed
assessments of volumetrics and sub-surface risk profile
• Coordinate technical evaluations, managing outsourced projects and provide quality assurance on geosciences issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective partners and host governments
• Work with other functional managers to ensure integration of multidisciplinary project team for the focused and successful completion of
evaluation projects
• Mentor junior members of the team

Key Deliverables:
• Delivery of integrated geophysical products (seismic interpretation, AVO analysis, depth conversion, attribute analysis) as part of the play
fairway evaluation
• Geophysical evaluation and justification of prospects
• Lead data room reviews of selected assets within agreed themes and areas. Responsibility to coordinate the final presentation and
recommendation to management.
• Present positive recommendations to Premier Oil Executive Committee for approval
• Provide guidance and leadership to junior members of staff on exploration best practice and to ensure the teams utilise the Exploration
Management System

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 15+ years’ Upstream industry experience with an international operating company, with a focus on prospect generation through seismic
interpretation.
• Working knowledge of petroleum geology in a variety of tectonic settings around the world, preferably with specific skills in frontal fold belts
and rift basins.
• Proven track record of data room/technical evaluations, able to search for analogues among geological provinces and with the judgement to
identify quality exploration opportunities.
• Hands-on seismic interpreter, deep understanding and experience in attribute analysis, AVO and depth conversion
• Familiarity with industry-recognised applications such as ArcGIS, REP and Petrosys would be advantageous
