The Company:
Over the years, our client has evolved from a young pioneer into an established international oil and gas, exploration and production company focused on Africa and the Middle East.
Our client’s assets are located in Nigeria, the Joint Development Zone of São Tomé & Príncipe, Gabon, Cameroon and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, comprising an excellent combination of oil and gas reserves and exploration opportunities. The Company now holds a wide variety of licensed blocks.

The Role:
• To provide geological support to ensure that the maximum value is being derived from the sub-surface assets located within the OML123 concession in Nigeria
• To identify areas within the portfolio that are under developed
• To mature opportunities towards drilling
• To manage reserves through accurate and consistent risk and volumetric assessment
• To support drilling operations
• To contribute to detailed field development planning
• To carry out all geological work required for the timely execution of designated projects in an efficient and cost effective manner,.
• To provide necessary technical support to, and to interface with, colleagues in other disciplines in the Technical Department and affiliated Operating
• To identify and evaluate infill and appraisal upside potential in designated projects
• To provide fully descriptive 3-D geological static models for well planning purposes and for use in dynamic simulation.
• To consult and interact with geophysicists, reservoir engineers and other disciplines as appropriate for the optimisation of interpretations, models, plans and reports.
• To prepare detailed well proposals according to the schedule in consultation with appropriate colleagues and specialists in APS, APD(N)L and other companies.
• To recommend data acquisition plans for wells.
• To provide technical advice while drilling, whilst maintaining up-to-date well progress data, subsurface maps and geological data.
• To provide functional advice and quality control to operational geologists employed by the Group's affiliated Operating Companies.
• Provide mentoring to less experienced staff as appropriate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• At least 7 years experience in production geology, including exposure to wellsite operations, petrophysics, seismic interpretation, formation evaluation, reservoir
engineering and geological modeling.
• Operational experience in West Africa is preferably with an operating company is an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
• Must have worked in integrated teams.
• A minimum of a BSc in Geology, Sedimentology, Structural Geology or in a relevant geological discipline.
• A Masters Degree in Geology or relevant subject is an advantage
• A high level of competency in reservoir geology and modelling (3D static sedimentology and diagenetic modelling, structure modelling, and drilling operations), with
involvement in exploration, appraisal and field development activities, preferably with an operating oil company
• Experience in using geomodeling software. Proficient use of PETREL is an advantage.

• To be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
• To be able to work well in an environment where operational deadlines are present.
• To be prepared for occasional operational support, and occasional overseas travel.
