The Company:
Our client was founded in 2005 with the objective of becoming a global leader in the energy sector. Their business is spread across the global energy sector and they are a company that is fully integrated with operations from wellhead to wall socket.

The Role:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for all aspects of geological input to the Asset Development team, and Exploration/Project teams, as required.

At the senior level, the job holder will be expected to work on their own initiative and will be involved in technically challenging projects which require the application of technical expertise.

The suitable candidate will provide a wide range of petrophysical support, including:
• single or multi-well (field-scale) petrophysical evaluations
• identification of areas of petrophysical uncertainty, particularly in relation to static/dynamic modelling studies
• well target identification/definition
• field re-development/reservoir modelling studies
• operational well planning/evaluation
• QC of relevant formation evaluation data e.g. open and cased hole logs, CCA, SCAL, mudlogs, pressure data, fluid samples
• work closely with Well Engineers and vendor logging companies in relation to tool selection and quality/cost control
• application of advanced petrophysical techniques e.g. neural net, NMR, facies-based, multi-mineral models
• ensure new and innovative tool technologies are considered at the well planning stage
• Works closely with other subsurface team members on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Provides input to field development, exploration and drilling plans.
• Participates in peer reviews, and contributes to management and joint venture partner meetings.
• Senior Petrophysicists will take a lead role in:
• Coaching and peer assist of other Petrophysicists
• Project management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BSc in Geological Sciences
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Proven ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Up to date knowledge of technological developments, industry initiatives, etc.
• Familiarity with industry standard software

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience of working in an Operator environment
• Production and exploration geology experience
• Good understanding of North Sea regional geology
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, including making presentations and technical report-writing
• Pragmatic team player
