The Company:
Our client is a leading independent FTSE 250 international oil and gas exploration and production company. The Role:
• As part of the Business Development team, help screen acquisition opportunities. These may arise via the marketing of upstream assets by banks,
direct negotiations with JV partners, and pro-active business development (possibly including your own networks)
• Access virtual and attend physical datarooms – acquire and interpret available geophysical data for the asset evaluation in hand to provide a critique of the
seller’s reservoir model and ongoing development plans. The geophysical methodology to be deployed will be specific to the asset in question.
• Focus will primarily be on the North Sea, but there will be potential for involvement with other geographical areas.
• Recommend, and either carry out or supervise, work plans covering the geophysical aspects of acquisition evaluation projects; manage 3rd party
consultants as necessary.
• Interact with other evaluation team members as required and steer the geophysical aspects of the work through Premier’s Peer Review process
• Provide geophysical input for Investment Papers sent to the Executive Committee and/or the Board in respect of potential acquisitions
• Provide ad hoc geophysical support to other business units

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proficiency in the use of geophysical interpretation and mapping software (Petrel and Kingdom experience is an advantage);
• Geological competence, experience of supporting reservoir modelling and an understanding of how geophysics relates to petroleum engineering (reservoir
and production) and petroleum economics;
• Familiarity with diverse reservoir types and petroleum systems. A strong working knowledge of North Sea (particularly CNS) fields and petroleum
systems is an advantage.
• Currency with latest industry innovations and best practise,
• Proficiency in the use of geophysical interpretation and mapping software (Petrel and Kingdom experience is an advantage);
• Geological competence, experience of supporting reservoir modelling and an understanding of how geophysics relates to petroleum engineering (reservoir
and production) and petroleum economics;
• Familiarity with diverse reservoir types and petroleum systems.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Possess gravitas, able to establish technical credibility in order to gain the respect of peers, supervisors, and external third parties
• Detail focused, flexible and a team worker who can prioritise to ensure deadlines are met
