The Company:
Established oil & gas operator in Vietnam, having their business in oil & gas exploration and production offshore Vietnam, has a vacancy for a Senior Geophysicist working in its Subsurface Department in Ho Chi Minh City to support its growth.

The Role:
Primary responsibilities:
The candidate will work full time in a Subsurface multi-disciplinary team that provides technical input into field evaluation, field development planning and exploration/appraisal activities in the concession blocks.

Typical work activities include:
- Quantitative seismic interpretation including structural settings, seismic attribute analysis, AVO inversion, velocity model
- Geophysical interpretation of seismic and other data for input into reservoir modeling/simulation/ reserves calculation and for support to the drilling activities
- Borehole seismic survey (VSP)
- Site survey preparation, execution and interpretation
- Works as a member of the team to input and actively takes part in preparing Well proposal/ Drilling programs including detailed well locations, trajectories and data acquisition
- Identify and apply suitable techniques to seismic reprocessing/geophysical reservoir characterisation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A geophysicist/seismic interpreter with significant experience in 2D/3D seismic interpretation, sound knowledge of structural geology and quantitative geophysical techniques is required. Understanding of quantitative seismic interpretation including seismic attribute analysis, AVO-inversion to map stratigraphic prospects and predict reservoir/ reservoir property distribution is required.

• Experienced geophysicist with a minimum of 15 years experience in integrated 2D and 3D seismic interpretation
• Strong understanding of petroleum geology and good knowledge of structural geology
• Thorough understanding of quantitative geophysical techniques for DHI identification and reservoir characterisation
• Knowledge of integrated field study methodologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
• Strong abilities to cope with pressure
• An excellent ability to work as a team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
