The Role:
• Help to define and execute opportunities for reserves growth in the Ghana Business Unit.
• Provide high quality geophysical/geological evaluation of operated and non operated blocks in Ghana and identify opportunities to gross reserves through exploration.
• Review and advise on new Venture opportunities.
• Provide high quality geophysical evaluations and generate prospects on operated Ghana Exploration Licences for drilling.
• Evaluate new Venture and Farm-In opportunities and assist with new Exploration Licence applications.
• Prepare Geophysical Programmes for new wells, assist with well planning, support drilling operations and undertake post well evaluations.
• Perform detailed synthetics to well ties
• Provide advice on seismic survey planning and data processing
• Provide velocity models and perform time to depth conversion of seismic data
• Undertake quantitative geophysical studies for improved reservoir understanding and modelling
• Define data acquisition programmes for wells, including checkshots and VSPs
• Support probabilistic volumetric assessment of prospects and assist with the risking of prospects.
• Define and supervise in-house and external geophysical studies
• Help maintain geophysical database
• Mentor and train junior geoscientists
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to Well Engineering, Reservoir Engineering and Commercial teams, and participate in major projects as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree: Masters or PhD Degree in geology/geophysics or equivalent
Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, working as an Exploration / Development Geophysicist with an Operating Company
Proven oil finder
Generation of 3D geocellular models using Petrel to aid exploration and appraisal activities.
Skills: Excellent technical computer skills are required
Fluency of written and spoken English language is required.
