An international EPC Company involved in LNG and Mining Projects.

The Senior H&S Advisor is a specialist member of the BWI LNG construction team and must possess the H&S skills to work closely with the Contractor H&S team to ensure project HES requirements are delivered and superior H&S performance is attained. A Senior H&S Advisor works in an integrated H&S role alongside the Contractor H&S team. The key challenge is to develop, coach and mentor contractor HES teams to attain superior HES performance.

This position is initially Perth-based with mobilisation to BWI planned for later in the project

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
• Liaise with and monitor contractor work activities and verify project H&S standards are being adhered to.
• Undertake H&S inspections of equipment and work areas with participation with line management.
• Provide coaching to contractor line management and H&S personnel on project H&S requirements.
• Mentor Contractor H&S teams re H&S performance.
• Undertake compliance audits of contractor H&S program and verify actions and completed.
• Participate and promote the project BBS program.
• Undertake incident investigations and compile reports.
• Compile safety bulletins and other reports as necessary.
• Promote an Incident and Injury Free culture.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• The ability to build successful relationships and trust when working in a challenging environment.
• Effective communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a HSE Coordinator / Adviser
• Diploma in occupational health and safety
• Major project or heavy industry sector experience (Construction preference)
• Experience with managing multiple contractors i.e. earthworks, civil, mechanical and/or electrical.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
• Oil/gas construction industry experience
• Marine experience
• Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
