The Company:
Our Client is an upstream oil and gas company with its head office in London and offices in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.
With its assets in the central North Sea and southern North Sea, the company has a good operating base, which provides an excellent basis for further growth. Throughout both regions, the company also has interests in key pipeline infrastructure.

The Role:
The Senior HSE Advisor shall provide a competent & proactive service across all UK assets & projects to ensure that HSE risk is understood & mitigations or controls are put in place in a timely & economical fashion.

In order to meet the company’s HSE responsibilities:
• Exhibit safe behaviours at all times when on company property and/or on company business
• Comply with all HSEQ policies & regulations
• Apply the HSEQ Management System as appropriate to the relevant area of the business

General Overall Responsibilities
• Provision of HSE support & advice to staff & contractors;
• Take a leading role in the development of a proactive HSE culture;
• Act (as appointed) as the HSE Lead for Assets & Projects, coordinating the provision of HSE function support to the Asset Mgr / Project Mgr;
• Ensure that the HSE risks associated with the company projects & operations are systematically identified & mitigated;
• Ensure the implementation & execution of HSEQ Management System processes in the execution of the company projects & production operations;
• Ensure contractors are systematically assessed through a rigorous monitoring & auditing process & managed to achieve an excellent performance;
• Act as a competent point of contact for external regulatory & other stakeholders;
• Provide positive mentoring to HSE advisors, peers and throughout the business unit;
• Provide assistance to the UK HSE Manager / GM HSEQ to develop & implement UK or BU wide HSE processes & procedures.

Specific Responsibilities
• Through a clear strategy, careful planning and performance monitoring drive excellent HSE performance in both staff and contractor communities;
• Actively participate in operational & project specific daily calls wrt all HSE matters;
• Establish and lead HSE Meetings /Conference Calls between the company and Contractors / service companies as required;
• Provide competent HSE inputs at HAZIDs, HIRAs, HAZOPs, SIMOPS, design reviews, gate reviews etc;
• Manage HSE expert contractors / consultants for specific workscopes
• Act as a competent point of contact for external Regulatory and other stakeholders;
• Ensure a current permits & consents plan is in place relating to operational assets & projects;
• Prepare, organise & deliver general & issue specific HSE training as required;
• Establish & lead HSE Campaigns to target key risks associated with operational assets & projects;
• Manage the collection & timely reporting of key proactive & reactive HSE metrics to the organisation;
• Participate in (& where appropriate lead) incident investigation teams including closeout of actions;
• Plan and execute offshore / onshore HSE Audits on operated assets and / or contractors as required;
• Provide a competent resource for emergency & contingency management; develop & manage emergency response exercises as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in a similar role.
