Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
The Senior Inspection Engineer will provide leadership and authoritative support on inspection technology and legislation to clients and members of the inspection team. You will report to the Inspection Function Leader and work with the Inspection Manager who manages the inspection contract and has line management responsibility for the inspectors. The Senior Inspection Engineer will be responsible for identifying technical requirements and delivering them to agreed timescales and also providing training and endorsing Inspectors reports where appropriate.

As a Senior Inspection Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Provide authoritative advice on pressure systems inspection technology and legislation to clients and members of the inspection team
• Work with the Inspection Manager to ensure the company deliver a high quality Inspection service that fully meets client requirements
• Lead teams of company and client Engineers reviewing inspection practice using risk based and traditional techniques
• Drive performance through effective leadership, delegation and empowerment
• Continually interact with senior client representatives to meet targets and mould product offerings accordingly
• Assess technical information to judge whether equipment is fit for service. Investigate loss of integrity incidents
• Represent company at all levels to win new business
• Work with clients from different sectors in the UK and abroad
• Make tough decisions when under pressure from operations
• Keep abreast of latest technology
• Coach, train and develop staff
• Deliver client targets while achieving company goals

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HNC/ HND with substantial experience in a relevant role
• Chartered mechanical Engineer
• Full UK driving licence
• Knowledge of UK Pressure Systems legislation
• Pressure systems Integrity management experience
• Experience on high hazard plant
• Willingness for regular offshore and UK travel essential

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Oil and Gas or Chemical sector experience
• Vessel/ Piping design experience
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques
• Knowledge of NDT Techniques
• Inspection background as Cat 1 Engineer within UKAS company
• Deterioration/ Corrosion management experience
