The Company:
Our client is a joint venture between a major international operator and the Kazakh state oil company.

The Role:
Reports to Engineering Manager.

The Senior Instrument Controls Automations Engineer is a member of the Project Owners Engineering Team. The Project valued in excess of $500 Million is transitioning from FEED into Detailed Engineering and Construction in 2014. The Project will upgrade existing crude oil export capacity to capture economic benefit of diverting shipments from rail to the expanded pipeline system with emphasis on safety, reliability and cost.
The Senior Instrument Controls Automations Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for providing technical as well as project engineering support to the Project during all phases of Engineering and Construction and is also responsible for representing the Engineering Team for all Instrument Controls Automations issues within the project.

Main Job Functions:
• Technical review and approval of the EPC Contractors Deliverables for Instrumentation Controls and Automations design, focused on but not limited to;
o Technical designs, specifications, job packs, material take-off lists, data sheets and drawing quality etc.
o Technical Bid Evaluations of engineered packages
o Site surveys and studies required to provide input into the design.
o Review and approval of Contractors ITP for all aspects of fabrication construction and installation
o Participation in Acceptance Tests.
• Ensure Instrumentation, Controls and Automation deliverables meet Project/Client/RoK requirements and Client Engineering Standards.
• Pro-actively review, monitor and report status of Contractors Instrumentation Control & Automation Engineering schedule.
• Ensuring Operational Excellence, Operations Assurance and Safety in Design requirements are satisfied during all Engineering phases.
• Support IIF culture within team and champion with EPC Contractor.
• Support Project and Design Assurance activities and participating as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
Instrumentation, Controls/Automations engineering degree with a minimum fifteen years of detailed design experience preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry. In addition the following criteria will be applied in the selection process.

Skills/Requirements:
• Familiar with GOST and SNIPs requirements for all piping systems. Must be familiar with industry and international standards relating to Instrumentation, Control and Automations systems designs.
• Demonstrates high degree of competency in Instrumentation & Control skills and general knowledge of other key engineering disciplines.
• Provides Instrumentation, Control and Automations design oversight for selection of sophisticated equipment or selection of equipment to be used in new, unusual, or complex situations.
• Broad knowledge of safety systems.
• Experience with Honeywell C300 and Safety Manager is highly desirable
• Experience using design software including modelling and reviews of models
