The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
30%
Responsible for managing Functional Safety Assessments (FSA) - Stage 3a of safety instrumented functions (SIFs) as per IEC61511.

20%
Interface with Commissioning and Start-up (CSU) Lead Instrument and Controls Engineer to:
• Identify critical sub-systems / SIFs and prepare Functional Safety critical document schedule,
• Ensure sufficient technical information is available to CSU and that CSU provides completed test records to satisfy FSA3a requirements.
• Input into the signing off of Functional Safety sections of Pre-Startup Safety Readiness Review
(PSSR).

30%
Interface with Project Engineering Team Deputy Engineering Manager to ensure:
• Unit specific Safety Requirement Specifications (SRSs) are made available to CSU as/when required,
• All FSA2a/2b actions and recommendations are closed out or that there’s appropriate mitigation measures in place.

10%
Interface with ADT/PAS-TST team leads to ensure all critical MOCs are implemented prior to commissioning activities or that there’s appropriate mitigation measures in place until the MOCs are implemented.

10%
Interface with ABU-FE Instrument Technical Authority (or delegate) to ensure FSA3b activities
are completed prior to introduction of hazards.


Candidate Requirements
Education
• Engineering Degree (Electrical, Instrument, Chemical)
• TUV FSEng or equivalent

Ticket Requirements
• White Card

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience
• 10+ years in oil/gas with a strong functional safety background.
• Skilled in the application of AS/IEC 61508 and AS/IEC 61511.
• Commissioning and construction experience desirable

Preferred Skills
• PHA/SOA process. Previous leadership positions.

Personal Attributes (e.g. communication, attention to detail, etc.)
• Can lead multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and negotiating skills
