Our Client appears in the FTSE 100 index and is an international energy services company specializing in Oil and Gas and has annual revenues of over £2.6 billion. They believe that it is the people that drive their success, from Project Managers, Project Engineers, consultants to designers and commercial personnel. They work globally employing over 20,000 people on major operations including the UK

The Role:
• Provide instrument engineering input to a multidiscipline team working on projects (major & minor) for the UK Operations Projects organisation. The work would involve offshore and onshore detail design surveys followed by onshore engineering, offshore construction and commissioning support, and input to maintenance activities. In addition to engineering activities the role would involve supervising instrument engineering personnel (including graduate engineers).
• Coaching, supporting and developing control and instrumentation engineers and draughtsman to achieve their career potential
• Technically directing and co-ordinating the design/draughting team and providing input to procurement on specific projects
• Carrying out control and instrumentation system design activities.
• Carrying out control and instrumentation system troubleshooting activities.
• Liaising and co-ordinating with other discipline groups to ensure deliverables are produced to meet deadlines and within budget constraints.
• Producing and reviewing documents, study reports and design calculations and ensuring conformance to engineering quality and competence and project management system.
• Assist in managing the discipline resources, including input to manpower plans.
• Ensuring compliance of all activities with the company's Health, Safety Environmental and Quality policies.
• Promoting safe behaviour at all times

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Appropriate degree (or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer preferred. Engineers who have not achieved chartered status but who have demonstrated knowledge and ability to work at this level over an extended period may be considered
• Experience in directing and co-ordinating teams of instrument engineers and designers, and monitoring their work to ensure technical design, standards are attained, project targets and agreed schedules are met and budgetary constraints are not exceeded.
• Proven experience; preferably in the offshore oil & gas industry.
