The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
The Role

To provide Control and Instrumentation engineering technical expertise to the Engineering group for the co-ordination of the Front End Engineering Development (FEED) of the Project.
This comprises coordination of contractors services in the execution of the controls and instrumentation design


Coordinate the finalisation of design concepts for the control and instrumentation facilities through the supervision of design contractors, external consultants and equipment manufacturers
Evaluate the systems and equipment being proposed in terms of proven technology, operability, maintainability and suitability for the environment.
Present selected solutions to Management and Partner Specialists and obtain their endorsement where required
Lead the identification, creation, and/or adoption of appropriate instrument engineering standards, with appropriate consideration of standards and norms.
Develop the strategy for the design and implementation of the Integrated Control and Safety System, its internal structure and interfaces to external systems.
Carry out technical review of Engineering Contractors documentation during the execution of the design and ensure the quality of the works according to the contract requirements.
Ensure a smooth and effective transfer of data and information.
Provide technical support on the engineering, constructability, operation and maintenance of control and instrumentation equipment and systems to other Disciplines
Advise on instrumentation equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies
Actively participate in the Control and Instrumentation Engineering to ensure that the production and maintenance systems are integrated and are operating effectively and are operating safely and efficiently in accordance with management systems.
Develop, maintain and manage networks and relationships with key personnel including those from the Operations Team, other operational Sites and regulatory bodies

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Honours Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline (Preferred)
Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineers and Technology or actively working towards it.
