The Role:
Senior Instrument Engineer will manage and lead business related work to achieve expected standards of quality, efficiency, ethics and compliance with Company policies and to support the effective and profitable performance of the Operations.

- To provide Group engineering services to a standard and proficiency commensurate with our Clients Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance (HSEQ) System.

- Maintain a contemporary technical and managerial competency through familiarity and knowledge of our Clients HSEQ System and through knowledge and learning of developments in the Group subject area.

- The execution of proposal and project work, in a Project Leader, Lead Discipline or engineer capacity.

- To take ownership of engineering matters on projects commensurate with the allocated role.

- To prepare, check, approve and provide technical input into project deliverables to the required quality standards in conformance with, or better than, the approved budget and programme.

- Authorisation of documents.

- To understand the nature of technical risks, during design, construction and eventual operation of the Plant, and be able to undertake qualitative risk assessments.

- To continually develop and provide specialist skills and judgement in areas of recognised personal competence.

- To review and appraise opportunities for professional development for self and people within the Group.

- To advise the Chief Specialist Engineer of issues on proficiency or deficiency in the skills and competencies of the Group as they become apparent.

- To assist in the development and training of personnel.

- To suggest, support and promote a regime of continuous improvement and value enhancement within the Group.

- To collaborate, initiate and support the promotion, dissemination and contribution towards a healthy, safe, environmentally sound and secure working environment, in the home office, on projects and during visits and periods on site or in other offices. To be aware of response and actions required, and to implement these actions, in the event of excursions from the safe conditions.

- To be self motivated and also able to work in a team, including as leader, motivating and encouraging, and be able to achieve goals.

- To represent our Client in a professional, conscientious and ethical manner.

- To undertake Discipline Audits and Technical Audits.

- To assist and liaise with the Chief Specialist Engineer to suggest and provide improvements, improved efficacy and efficiency, proficient and high quality technical engineering services, high quality deliverables and cost value.


DUTIES

- Ensure that they and discipline personnel are appraised and aware of any health, safety, environmental and security issues that are required for home office, site related visits and work for proposals and projects for which the Engineer takes a lead role.

- Advise the Chief Specialist Engineer of any health, safety, environmental, security or competency issues, including residual risks that are relevant to the office, proposals and projects.

- To prepare and support discipline contributions to Proposals including:

· Interpretation of the discipline technical content of the Enquiry and understanding the relationship with other disciplines. Advise Proposal Manager of any omissions, anomalies, inconsistencies or interpretations and develop these to a conclusion.

· Definition of activities and deliverables.

· Prepare discipline manhour estimates

· Liaise with the Estimating Group on the preparation of equipment cost estimates and installation work content.

· Contribution to Proposal’s discipline write up.


To undertake the execution of project work, in a Lead Discipline or discipline engineer capacity, in accordance with the Project Execution Plan (PEP), Project Co-ordination Procedure (PCP), Quality Plan, Project Instructions (PI) and Discipline Design Instructions (DDI’s).
