The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
Our client run a core service for brownfield operations focused on the delivery of major projects, upgrades, debottlenecking, project portfolio management and support services to sustain our customer’s assets and improve business performance.

We are currently sourcing a Senior Instrument Engineer to join the North East Office.

The designer will be assigned to work on a number of internal work-share projects and projects with UK based clients.

The key components of the job are:

Carry out site surveys (with designers) on a brownfield speciality chemicals facility.
Review drawings for accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and for compliance with design criteria and overall project requirements.
Assist with production design work with Lead Engineer, including meetings and design reviews.
Monitor costs and programme.
To produce instrument datasheets (pressure, flow, temperature, level, analysis, etc), prepare enquiries and technical bid evaluations.
Check cable and tray routing diagrams, block cable diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument loop diagrams, cable schedules etc, prepared by designers.
Read and understand P&IDs, Mechanical General Arrangements, Piping Drawings and Civil Drawings
A good working knowledge of ATEX and hazardous area applications.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Sound knowledge of instrument/electrical drawing office produced deliverables
Conceptual Design, Drawing Production, Mathematics, Computing, Graphical Presentation, Communication in English
Self motivated inventive design skills.
Substantial Process Plant design experience.
Experience of SmartPlant Instrumentation would be an advantage, but not essential.
Duration 4 to 6 months + ongoing future work.
Must have a current driving licence and vehicle as visits to site will be required.
Diploma – HND/HNC
Belasis (Billingham) Office with frequent visits to BASF Bradford
