The Role:
To assist the Lead or Principal engineer in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
To be aware of and adhere to the company values, systems and processes.

Organisational:
• Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
• Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget.
• Ensure project deliverables are generated via the Management system where applicable.
• Review and check the work of others.
• Assist the lead or principal engineer in the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
• Liase with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
• Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function.
• Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work.
• Assist the lead engineer in the compilation of weekly reports on progress via the Integrated Management system where applicable.
• May have responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function.
• Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
• Deputise for the principal engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required.

Technical:
• Ensure the compliance of the design and procurement activities with company procedures and all relevant statutory regulations, codes and standards.
• To ensure recognition of changes to scope of work and assist in the preparation of Change Requests as appropriate
• Review the work carried out by subordinate engineers in the group for accuracy, technical quality and fitness for purpose utilising own experience and PEM.
• Review documents and drawings produced by the group and ensure that single and inter-discipline checks are carried out in accordance with company / project procedures and PEM.
• Assist procurement and project engineering personnel in the procurement of equipment and materials.
• Carry out tasks as package responsible engineer for instrument field device packages as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
• Carry out tasks as discipline responsible engineer for support of mechanical and electrical packages as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
• Apply for deviations to standards where applicable via the Lead Engineer
• The preparation of documents and deliverables
• Carry out manual/computer analysis of systems and field instruments as appropriate
• Provide input to weight estimates as appropriate
• Identify any offshore / onshore survey requirements
• Carry out onshore or offshore site surveys as required
• Apply experience and professional knowledge to provide solutions
• Review and comment on vendor supplied information
• Carry out vendor package inspection and testing on behalf of the project
• Provide input to resolution and respond to site and offshore queries
• Prepare input to construction workpacks
• Prepare input to commissioning procedures
• Keep up to date with professional and industry developments
• Be seen as a role model on HSE matters within your areas of operation and influence
• Intervene and ensure intervention by others where required
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with Procedures
• Keep abreast of industry developments and innovations that may affect safety and welfare of personnel or protection of the environment, and inform colleagues accordingly

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
• Educated to degree level in engineering discipline
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
• Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
• Conversant with appropriate technical software
• Aware of latest technical developments
• Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
• Current Offshore Medical Certificate.
