Our client is ranked among the top upstream engineering centers worldwide.

The Role:
Position Summary:
• Experienced in offshore oil / gas, hydrocarbon and is recognized as a specialist in a specific engineering field on large to mega projects.
• An I&C SE must assist his I&C LE in coordinating both the Engineering and Design teams and be familiar with the workings of the engineering and design software systems being used on the project.
• Participate in all instrumentation related aspects of overall control and safety design.
• Participate in the engineering and design of a facility under the supervision of senior personnel, including heavy coordination with Process Engineering, Piping Design, and Mechanical Engineering groups for functional requirements of instruments. Prepare and review engineering studies, design drawings, documents, and material & equipment specifications and datasheets.
• Resolve specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
• Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.

Responsibilities or Duties:
• Development of Instrument and Control portion of P&IDs.
• Creation and management of the Instrument Index database.
• Specification and selection of field instruments to meet performance criteria.
• Instrument sizing calculations (Control Valves, Relief Valves, Flow Elements, and thermowell vibration calculations).
• Specification, selection and purchase of all Instrumentation.
• Specification, selection and purchase of Process Control Systems and Safety systems.
• Functional design of the Process Control Logic and Safety logic (defining requirements).
• Create and manage instrumentation scope work for project.
• Integrate packaged equipment into overall system design.
• Oversee development of detailed design drawings including Instrument Plans, Details, Wiring, Loops, and Fabrication Drawings.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to Oil and Gas and Refining Industries (API, ISA, NEC / IEC, NFPA, ASME, etc.) and preferably also Saudi Aramco standards and working practices.
• Interface with the Project Management team and Client.
• Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents, and material and equipment specifications.
• Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
• Perform thorough review of relevant vendor information.
• Provide a timely internal check of drawings produced by other Company disciplines.
• Incorporate Company procedures and standards into design as applicable.

Additional Requirements:
• Visits to offshore facilities for surveys.
• Lifting and carrying offshore.
• Inspection trips
• Leadership experience or proven leadership skills.
• Should be proficient in Microsoft office software (Word and Excel) and Company purchased and in house created software such as Caesar II. Should also be familiar with editing, opening and reading drawings in Microstation and working with SP3D 3D CAD system on projects. Should be familiar with responding to e-Mails & doing all necessary actions as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 10 Years I&C Engineering or related industry experience
• Corporate Member of a recognized chartered professional body.
• BSc Engineering degree.
