The Role:
Overview:
They are seeking a number of Senior/Lead Planners to work on a FIFO roster to either Gladstone or Chinchilla. Due to recent project wins there are a number of opportunities on either the Alpha COal (Brisbane - then site), QCLNG (Brisbane based and FIFO roster available) or WICT (Brisbane based the FIFO to Gladstone).
Primary objectives include:-
1. To proactively support the project by managing the planning process and planning personnel and the activities across the organisation
2. To assist and support the Project Services Manager in managing the Project Schedule and ensure the customer gains maximum business benefits from the mechanism
3. Provide planning expertise and assist the project with their project planning services
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise the planning function during design and/or construction stages of the assigned project/projects
- Responsibilities for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
- To manage the Planning Team to deliver a complete Planning/Scheduling service to the organisation
- Work directly with the customers UEV Cost & Planning to ensure the Planning processes, procedures and systems are implemented and subject to continuous improvement reviews
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports as required, and analyse contractors reports
- Liaise with the Engineering Manager, Construction Manager, Operations Development and Asset Focal Points to ensure the planning process accurately reflects the work scope and requirements of the managers
- Establish and maintain activity level integration between P6 and Project Management Reporting tool
- Identify contract variations related to program changes and instigate documentation to the customer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidates will possess substantial technical and practical experiencein the relevant discipline in the Resources and Energy (M&M and O&G) industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary EPCM projects and teams
To succeed in these roles, you will also:
- Be client focused, proactive, team orientated and schedule driven
- Possess sound negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Have well developed skills in Project Controls software packages – InControl, P6, Prism etc.
- Demonstrable commitment to HSE management in a project environment
- Posses high level organisational and planning skills
- Possess a high level of written and verbal communications skills
- Possess a high level of customer focus
