The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As an interim Head of Global Parts Warehouse Operations the candidate will be held fully responsible for distribution from warehouse down to the next distribution level or customer. That includes warehouse performance, such as delivery reliability, quality of delivery, total warehousing cost and total out-bound transport cost. The current warehouse footprint contains 14 warehouses currently outsourced to Unipart and Cat Logistics. The total area used is approx. 3,0M sqft and about 700 FTEs are working in the outsourced premises. The worldwide warehouse cost budget to be managed is at £45M p.a. handling 14M orderlines in- and outbound. Total out-bound transportation services contracted reflect £20M. The services offered to the market are stock replenishment overseas, stock replenishment within the continent, VOR express orders and emergency orders for car breakdowns. In that function he is in close alignment with procurement and expediting as well as inventory management, contract management and order management. In order to ensure a consistent service on a worldwide basis, the objective is to establish a JLR parts warehouse standard and develop the different sites towards that standard. Similar approach to out-bound transport. He manages the strategically necessary and agreed warehouse and transport changes (new openings, closures, transfers) and makes proposals for future contract partners to the supply chain planning team. Initiates and drives in close alignment with the Director and the colleagues improvement activities on a continuous basis. In every major region there will be a regional warehouse operations director reporting into the global head. Responsible for targeted 5 FTE.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Able to demonstrate a strong logistics operational leadership background at management level ideally from aftersales business
Has a proven and successful warehouse management and logistics track-record
Hold education at degree level
Be known for following key attributes: service-business-minded, hands-on shop floor expertise, highly motivated and motivating, energetic and convincing, interpersonal and communication skills, straight forward and pragmatic dedicated to standardized state-of-the-art shop floor operations
Good negotiation and contract management experience
Has proven experience in quality programs and continuous improvement programs like six-sigma, PDCA, TQM, KAIZEN, ISO, operational auditing and benchmarking expertise.
Be the hands-on operational implementer within the supply chain & logistics team.
Ideally degree qualified
