A Major Supplier and Manufacturer of Plastics and Resins Within the Industrial Sectors (based in Johor, Malaysia)

The Role:
Responsibility (Action)
- Accountable for overall maintenance cost, Asset Reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Defines skills necessary to implement maintenance and reliability process.
- Ensures delivery of best in class services to the businesses.
- Use Management of Change (MOC) for value added improvements.
- Establishes annual maintenance spending plans to support business needs.
- Tracks and analyzes maintenance & reliability process measurements to drive improvements.
- Effectively utilizes Performance Management, Performance Awards, and Stretch Goals to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Effectively utilizes Strategies to drive reliability improvements
- Drive continuous use of the Six Sigma Methodology or similar
- Ensure all employees have an Personal Development Plan (PDP)
- Maintain a Succession Plan
- Maintain a trained work force and Contract craftsperson.
- Monitor all unplanned events
- Monitors all Process for compliance
- Ensures Role understanding


Expectations
- Drive reliability and productivity improvements to achieve targeted reliability and spending goals.
- Work with Reliability Engineering person(s) to establish goals associated with reliability engineering strategy, cost and OEE.
- Ensure employees have the required competencies for their assigned role. Maintain an updated staffing strategy and succession plan.
- Conduct internal and external benchmarking to validate vision, strategies, and goals.
- Identifies opportunity gaps by benchmarking maintenance and reliability KPI.
- Ensure that MOC is utilized for all changes that are not like for like.
- Work with the Budget Team to establish required budgets to support the businesses. Budget spending is to be maintained at or below plan.
- Ensure adequate non-bias measures are established to manage productivity.
- Establish personal accountability tied to achieving stretch goals. These goals must drive improvement in safety, cost avoidance/reduction, and/or hard dollar savings.
- Annual face to face meetings with Site/Plant/Production managers to review/agree on the Service Level Agreement (this document should be a joint agreement between Maintenance and Production).
- Accountable for reviewing with maintenance employees for Understanding and Support.
- Maintain an up-to-date Maintenance Strategy for assigned plants. Facility Strategy must be an “Ever Green” document and reviewed for compliance throughout the year. Equipment strategies are reviewed for implementation and effectiveness.
- Accountable for reviewing with Maintenance employees and Site/Plant/Production Leadership for Understanding and Support.
- Maintain an up-to-date Maintenance Strategy for assigned plants. Facility Strategy must be an “Ever Green” document and reviewed for compliance throughout the year. Equipment strategies are reviewed for implementation and effectiveness.
- Accountable for reviewing with Maintenance employees and Site/Plant/Production Leadership for Understanding and Support.
- Maintain an evergreen list of Six Sigma projects or similar improvement tools. Ensure employees have improvement goals.
- Constantly look for opportunities to develop employees per their established EDP. Maintain employee awareness of the importance of the develop plan and its relationship to their future success.
- Monitor organizational movement, both future and current. Implement a plan to maintain a skilled work force for effective work process compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring all crafts personnel have the required skills to perform their role.
- Works with Contract Administration to ensure contractor companies have hands on skills assessment.
- Ensure all unplanned events are logged and reviewed for improvement opportunities. Events resulting in a maintenance trigger will require a formal investigation with the corrective action items being recorded and tracked.
- Works with all Maintenance personnel to ensure that established dates are met by setting expectations, etc. (Time Confirmation, Training, Procedures/documents in doc control, etc.)
- Ensures that all Maintenance Roles understand their responsibilities and role expectations.
