The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experiences engineering professionals.

The Role:
To support vehicle assembly with delivery and maintenance of the Vehicle Electrical Configuration and Test system (VECTS) in line with product development and legal requirements in a way that is sympathetic to manufacturing requirements and mindful of affordable business targets.
An extensive understanding of emerging vehicle electrical architecture structures in line with the appropriate testing regimes and equipment will be required combined with an extensive understanding of Manufacturing Engineering practices within the automotive sector with a vehicle electrical / electronic background being essential.
To liaise with Product Development (PD) engineers for functionality and product specifications in order to specify test/configuration and download requirements of existing and emerging vehicle lines.
 Evaluate engineering releases for impact on VECTS and provide advice to releasing engineers as appropriate. Conduct feasibility studies, cost and project manage any necessary changes.
 To control engineering release driven hardware and software changes and test sequence modifications.
 To liaise with suppliers to ensure delivery requirements are achieved in a timely manner and within budget.
 To validate software releases and introduce controlled line trial process.
 To document and improve in line with continuous improvement methodology processes and procedures associated with electrical test and SWDL (software download) process.
 Provide advice and assistance to production technicians, maintenance and systems in relation to system requirements and specifications.
 To support production with new technology introductions.
 To ensure continuation of build through production facility, with minimal downtime by adopting preventative maintenance philosophy.
 Control and collate electrical RFT data and data collection methods to provide the business with the information required to improve electrical RFT.
 To ensure all equipment satisfies all health and safety requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Preferably a Degree qualified Engineer (HNC/ONC minimum) with extensive experience in an electrical test based Manufacturing Engineering environment, including a detailed understanding of vehicle electrical test and module architecture within the software download process.
