The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the delivery of the topsides design for the Floating Production Storage and Offload (FPSO) faciltiy. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer of Topsides, this role will see the successful candidate play a key role in ensuring project milestones associated with FPSO design are met.

Initially based in our London office, with relocation to Asia expected in 2012, the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
• Support and advise the project team on static equipment aspects of design, construction and offshore hookup and commissioning of the FPSO to meet the project requirements
• Ensure that project specifications are complied with and deviations are substantiated in line with project procedures
• Manage and control work undertaken by contractors
• Prepare technical reports and presentations as required
• Organise, manage and control third party support studies as required
• Provide guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures and specifications with respect to piping and layout design for design, procurement, construction, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of FPSO
• Ensure interfaces between the FPSO hull and topside are managed as required
• Liaise with JV partners to seek endorsment on deviations to original design plans

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary Engineering Degree
• Experience in the mechanical design of Offshore Oil and Gas Topside facilities
• High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, precommissioning, installation and offshore hookup and commissioning of FPSO
• Ability to work with different disciplines and cultures
