The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
This requirement is for Mechanical Senior Engineer with a background in the design of Mechanical Handling and Remote Handling equipment.

The role requires the individual to be embedded with an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to deliver and overall detailed design solution for the project. The integrated project team is required to manage the project design coordination and interfaces, whilst ensuring that the design intent for the plant is maintained.
Specifically this role will involve the individual being integrated into a team required to review the design development of ‘Primary Plant Modules.

Responsibilities will include:
Stakeholder liaison to determine requirements for projects and tasks within the portfolio.
Site surveys (as necessary to assist with completion of work scope).
Liaison with other Engineering Disciplines.
Liaison with equipment/package suppliers
Production of Engineering Design documentation.
Providing support to Safety Case and Engineering Substantiation.

The successful candidate will be required work in the client’s offices in Risley, Warrington, or appropriate DSA partner premises in the North West and/or Bristol. All work will be carried out under the supervision of the clients Mechanical Responsible Engineer (or nominees). Occasional visits to Sellafield nuclear licensed site may also be required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering based course.
Appropriate Engineering Degree and membership of a recognised Engineering Institute.
5 years within the previous 10 years, working within a regulated and quality assured system in roles reliant on professional engineering judgement; including 2 years within the last 5 working years where design was a major part of the role.
Previously worked on Sellafield Limited projects.
Previously worked on nuclear decommissioning tasks.
Good communicator and team player.
Innovative thinker.
Able to conduct themselves professionally and with integrity.
Adaptable to changing work fronts, environments and challenging situations.
Self motivated and capable of arranging own work schedules to meet challenging client deadlines.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
‘SC’ Level preferred, but may accept candidates with no clearance level (provided that as a minimum, they are British nationals) to be initially security cleared by the client at ‘EBS’ Level. Clearance up to ‘SC’ Level may follow once the candidate is mobilised on the project.
