The Company:
Our Client appears in the FTSE 100 index and is an international energy services company specializing in Oil and Gas and has annual revenues of over £2.6 billion. They believe that it is the people that drive their success, from Project Managers, Project Engineers, consultants to designers and commercial personnel. They work globally employing over 20,000 people on major operations including the UK.

The Role:
Provision of cost effective mechanical engineering equipment. Production of reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books in conjunction with other members of the project team in a timely and efficient manner

Support the Lead Engineer in department activities

Supervision of assigned discipline personnel including Mechanical Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Designers

Give technical direction and guidance to engineering and design personnel

◦Ensure that the technical competence of Mechanical personnel under their supervision is matched to the work in hand
◦Provide technical assistance to Mechanical personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Mechanical personnel, including mentoring
◦Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
◦Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, HS&E Regulations and EU Directives
◦Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
◦Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Mechanical activities
◦Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required
◦Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines
◦Producing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe
◦Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required
◦Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical engineering discipline or suitable experience backed up by an engineering qualification.
•Chartered.
◦Suitable experience within the oil and gas industry will be a factor when selecting Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineers, but the criterion for selection will be their ability to carry out the role.
◦Minimum criteria for consideration for selection is one of the following or a combination of :
◦ C.ENG and suitable experience.
◦Qualifications such as a mechanical degree or HND plus significant experience.
◦A career progression from skilled mechanical trades or designer to Mechanical Equipment Engineer including a substantial experience as an engineer or senior engineer.
