The Company:
Our client operates a number of major upstream and midstream projects in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. These projects, representing a total investment of some $25 billion, collectively comprise the largest foreign direct investment to date in these three countries.

The Role:
•Provide discipline engineering support to offshore operations in resolving engineering, maintenance, operations, and technical integrity issues
•Monitor offshore activities and lead continuous improvement optimization efforts in the mechanical and rotating equipment areas
•Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFAs)for issues related to the mechanical discipline, including rotating machinery
•Represent the mechanical engineering discipline in multi-disciplined RCFAs, Production Upset Reports (PURs), and Incident Investigations
•Respond to engineering queries and coordinate MoCs to ensure facilities and equipment are operated within the design envelopes; suggest and lead efforts to change system design as necessary
•Ensure all relevant documentation for the asset is kept up to date and any technical changes are managed appropriately via the AzSPU engineering processes to manage change
•Work closely with vendors and contractors which are utilized to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities
•Ensure that all anomalies are subject to engineering evaluation / failure analysis / fitness for purpose assessment with identification of remedial and recommended follow up actions
•Advise management on issues relating to technical integrity in the areas of static mechanical equipment, rotating machinery, and valves
•Ensure implementation of codes and standard applicable to mechanical engineering
•Actively participate in technical networks / communities of interest, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings, advances within their area of specialty, and have close links with AzSPU Mechanical and Rotating Machinery Technical Authorities
•Provide mentoring and coaching assistance to develop junior engineers within the AzSPU.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
•Chartered or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
•Minimum of 10 to 15 years relevant experience in design and operations necessary

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Established track record for solving problems and effective communication skills
•Experience with offshore operations and engineering; production facilities, and rotating equipment
•Demonstrated ability to work in a large operation with a multi discipline teams
•Knowledge of and experience in Engineering Technical Practices, Industry Codes and Standards, and the Principles of Integrity Management
•Experience working with different culture would be advantageous
