The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Perform a full range of critical mechanical inspection and QC work on fixed (static) equipment and static parts of rotating equipment. Ensure the integrity and compliance of facilities and plant equipment with applicable codes and the client engineering specifications and requirements during fabrication/manufacturing (procurement), installation/constructions (projects) and in-service / shutdowns (operations).
1. Perform critical external and internal Inspection of plant equipment for mechanical and corrosion defects including welding, coating and non-metallic inspections.
2. Master use of inspection tools including callipers, micrometres, boroscopes, and pit gages; NDT conventional methods including VT, PT, MPT, UT & RT and provides interpretation of results.
3. Identify use and requirements of advanced NDT methods e.g. Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS), Eddy Current Testing, Magnetic Flux Leakage, Acoustic emission, TOFD, High Energy or Electronic Radiography, shear wave and automated UT and provides interpretations.
4. Witness and approve hydrostatic, pneumatic and other pressure testing.
5. Oversee corrosion monitoring and inspection activities as required by the work process.
6. Provide evaluation and interpretation of inspection findings, defects and repairs.
7. Generate and draft inspection worksheets, recommendations and reports.
8. Ensure accuracy and integrity of inspection records & log books and management systems.
9.Perform critical QC inspection for new equipment fabrication and installation and/ or for repairs and modification in existing equipment repairs
10. Inspect critical and high risk heat treatment, installation of hot taps, weld plus ends sleeves, pads and any welding required on process equipment while on services.
11. Inspect critical equipment for cleanness and safe entry prior internal inspection
12. Provide reviews of inspection related procedures and engineering documents and acts as an expert in his discipline.
13. Mentor and provide OJT training for inspectors to be fully qualified and certified.
14. Assist and provide discipline expertise in Integrity, QA, root cause and RBI studies for existing facilities and participate in QA Assessments for vendors and projects.
15. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/ manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A Two-year Technical College degree in Mechanical studies or equivalent. This can be waived by High School (industrial/science) degree with three years of experience and training in plant or project inspection.
• English Proficiency: Up to Level 7, TOFEL or equivalent.
• AWS welding inspector; level II certification in the five (5) conventional NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT & RT); At least two API or ASME Inspector certifications for vessels/boilers, tanks or piping; CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 3 and RTFI Level II.
• Valid Driver License.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Twelve years (12) of experience in plant and/ or project inspection post technical college or Fifteen years (15) post high school as mechanical inspector.
• Out of those, 5 years must be worked in operating plants if incumbent is to work in existing facilities or worked in large projects environment if incumbent is to work in fabrication and construction of projects.
