The Company:
Our client is a fully-fledged provider of EPC field development projects as well as engineering, technologies, solutions and services for the upstream oil and gas industry. Our range of offerings include deepwater drilling technologies, subsea oil and gas production systems, well services, mooring and offloading systems, wellstream processing technologies, as well as life-of-field solutions through its maintenance, modification and operations business.

The Role:
Our client an established engineering contractor are looking for a Senior Mechanical Package Engineer to join their office in West London.

Duration: 6-9 Months Contract
Rates: Competitive with market rates

Duties:
Knowledge of, and compliance with Management Systems.
Knowledge of, and compliance with, client, industry and international specifications and standards.
Ensure that proper and relevant HSSE considerations are implemented
Check changes to the Package are registered and processed in full compliance with the project procedures for the Management of Change control, including the involvement of the Technical Authority as applicable.

Technical Assurance
Provide day-to-day technical and quality advice for the Package and delivery.
Be accountable for any agreement for ‘Technical Assistance' with the Supplier for the installation and commissioning of the equipment
Check any Package non-conformities detected during execution of the work are recorded and handled as outlined in the relevant project procedure.
Work closely with the Package Buyer to ensure that all aspects of the procurement procedures and requirements are met. All matters relating to commercial (price and delivery) aspects and contractual agreements will be referred to the Supply Chain personnel.
Co-ordinate through the Package Supplier Quality Assurance representative all inspection, witness and acceptance tests and attendance from any additional parties.

Reporting
Monitor and report on the Package Suppliers progress including but not limited to document submittals, sub-supplier deliveries and final delivery dates.
Ensure that the Package information filing structure is set-up and maintained.
Ensure that any non-conformity that is detected during execution of the work is recorded and communicated to Package Management Co-ordinator or Project Manager and all affected parties with interface impact.
In conjunction with PM monitor budget and cost performanceEstablish a risk management process for the Package, fit-for-purpose according to the size and complexity of the Package.

Communication
Maintain communication and relationships with the suppliers through the Package Buyer.
Maintain a positive team co-ordination between the Package Buyer, Inspector, and Expeditor.
Liaise and involve where necessary the Lead Discipline Engineer for relevant technical issues

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
Full member of IMechE.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Preferred Chartered Engineer.
Preferred Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers
