The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:

Perform single part and full assembly measurement against drawing or CAD data to ensure specification conformance. Provide a measurement resource producing accurate data to enable; problem solving, part maturation, supplier investigation and part sampling. Responsible for the building of fixtures and properties to accurately hold parts/assemblies.


a) Select appropriate methodology and measurement equipment to suit specific tasks based on requirements, technical knowledge and metrology experience.: including manual hand tools, CMM, portable arms, laser scanners and white light projectors. Utilise CAD and measurement software to produce graphical reports in line with customer measurement requests.
b) Provide Senior Metrology Technicians with data reports to agreed Metrology standards

a) Use Group systems (KVS, Catia V5 etc.) to import CAD data into a variety of measurement software in preparation for measurement.
b) Provide initial analysis of measurement report to Senior Metrology Technician to highlight parts out of specification.

a) Plan, record, document and store all work in the standardised formats and locations identified in departmental TS16949 processes

a) Ensure that parts are fitted to and removed from Meisterbock properties/ Vehicles/ Fixtures/ Subassemblies in line with approved processes, identifying and documenting potential concerns to enable onward communication and problem resolution.

a) Ensure weekly calibrations/verifications to the TS16949 standard are completed.
b) Understand and adhere to departmental 5S strategy & TPM schedule.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Ability to communicate at a technical level within the department.
• Ability to manage workload efficiently with minor supervision.
• Experience of CMM measurement equipment.
• Competent use of bespoke measurement equipment and software packages and a demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new measurement technology
• A willingness and ability to travel occasionally as required

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Computer Literacy and experience in a technical role is mandatory
• Experience of fitting and removing components is essential.
• The knowledge of or previous use of Metrology standard measurement equipment would be a distinct advantage.
• Working knowledge of Caita + KVS
• Working knowledge of GD&T (geometric, dimensioning and tolerancing)
• Working knowledge of Metromec
• Working knowledge of Polyworks
• Working knowledge of Powerinspect and GOMinspect
• Competent at an intermediate level in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• The ability to interpret 2D Engineering drawings for measurement analysis purposes
• Basic problem solving skills
