The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:
Our Client is currently recruiting for Senior Naval Architect. Under the direction of the FPSO Hull Engineering Leader, this person will be responsible for the delivery of a substructure for the FPSO that meets the requirements of the project in safety, operability and maintainability throughout its 40 year life. Initially based in London until approximately March 2012, this position will be expected to relocate to an as yet to be determined location for the subsequent phases of detail design and fabrication.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Directing the project team and contractors on naval architectural aspects of the design, transportation and installation of the FPSO, to meet project requirements.
• Reviewing contractor documentation, project philosophies and specifications to ensure compliance with accepted industry practice and Marine Warranty and Classification Society requirements.
• Preparing technical reports and presentations as required
• Ensuring project deliverables and activities associated with naval architecture of FPSO are achieved in accordance with the project milestone dates
• Providing guidance and input during design and fabrication in the areas of naval architecture

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidates will need to be a degree qualified Naval Architect with extensive hull design experience of offshore oil and gas facilities, preferably FPSO's. This should be complemented by previous experience in the management of contractors and working as part of a multidisciplinary client team. Furthermore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
