The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
You will provide technical support to existing facilities, front end engineering activities and projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Technical Integrity Custodian for some of the FPSOs in operation.
• Co-ordinate internal and external engineering activities and the interdisciplinary interfaces in close liaison with Production and other Functions.
• Support the Technology, Development Planning and Projects Functions, as required for new opportunities.
• Manage and facilitate communication across the organisation to ensure that project objectives are met.
• Execute internal and external design reviews.
• Liaise with Technical Authorities (TA) and other Technical Integrity Custodians (TIC) to ensure appropriate input.
• Prepare cost, time and resources (CTR) for studies and seek budget approval.
• Prepare documentation to support studies (eg Scopes of Work; Project Execution Plans, Assurance Plans, Design Premise).
• Lead technical negotiations and bid evaluation for work packages delivered by contractors.
• Ensure that all activities and studies are carried out within the framework of the Management System.
• Support cost management and control activities and project reporting.
• Monitor the execution of assurance reviews to provide confidence that business objectives will be achieved.
• Apply “Safety in Design” principles in development of engineering solutions.
• Assist in the development and management of strong contractor relationships.
• Ensure use of engineering standards and guidelines across the projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Skills & Experience:
• Degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering.
• CPEng accreditation desirable.
• Extensive Naval Architecture experience.
• Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
• Excellent communication, written and organisational skills.
• Project management capability.
• Skills, knowledge and experience in the naval architecture discipline, including:
o Structural Design and Analysis;
o Motion and Mooring Analysis;
o Loading and Stability;
o FPSO design and operation;
o Marine Systems;
o Turret design; and
o Class and Regulatory requirements
