The Company:
Our Client is an international oil and gas company with operated production of about 600,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and specialise in turning marginal and challenging fields into commercial successes.

The Role:
Our Client requires a Senior Operations Surveyor to manage their operational marine survey aspects.

This is an office based role on a rotational basis, with some offshore/vessel visits.

The post holder will be accountable for planning, delivery, budgeting and technical assurance of contracted survey activities and the resulting data, charting and reporting products. The position requires close cooperation with internal customers, project managers, engineers, marine specialists, operations and drilling teams, seismic acquisition, geophysical and geotechnical specialists, and with a variety of offshore and land survey contractors and consultants.

Duties may include:

Liaison with Company Project Engineers and Management Team.
Liaison with Contractor’s Management Team.
Prepare the technical aspects of invitation to Tender documentation.
Undertake bid evaluation and prepare documentation for management review.
Prepare Scope of Works for survey projects.
Participate in HAZID’s and Readiness Reviews.
Liaise with partners, third party contractors and government organizations.
Liaison and interface with other projects as required. Manage the provision of Offshore Site Representatives for survey operations.
Act as focal point for offshore survey operations.
Supervision and QA/QC of the contractor’s survey operations.
Monitor contractor’s activities to ensure optimum equipment utilization.
Ensure the delivery of the construction and survey activities is in accordance with the company specifications, project procedures, processes, systems and budgets.
Evaluate reporting and provide feedback.
Act as Knowledge Base for the survey aspects of Company activities.
Supervising the maintenance of all Company Controlled Navigation Charts.
Manage the storage of all chart positioning data in an easy detectable mode.
Supervise the preparation and delivery of all project related cartographic products.
Ensure the correct filing / archiving of all survey and positioning reports and charting both electronic and hard copy.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BSc in Survey Sciences or equivalent. MSc in Geomatics or related degree preferred.
Qualified Hydrographic Surveyor with a minimum of 15 year’s Offshore Oil & Gas industry experience.
Minimum three years experience working in client office as Project Manager for construction and seismic projects.
Thorough understanding of the principles and practical application of Marine Survey.
Background including experience as Offshore Site Representative.
Previous experience working with Oil Major preferred.
Proven experience in Land survey and offshore construction support, drilling support, seismic acquisition, geophysical and geotechnical surveys.
Ability to engage, influence and manage stakeholders at all levels.
Proven communication and collaboration skills.
Proven experience of introducing improvements to processes and ways of working.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proactive approach to ongoing events with the ability to adapt to problems to achieve best case results.
Builds networks to enhance effectiveness and share knowledge.
Strong computer and IT literacy to include ACad, MS Office.
Knowledge of QHS&E Management Systems.
