The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing Senior PDMS Designers to join our client's Stockport based office.

As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait our client are undertaking FEED and detail design to support major revamp and modification projects modernising the Client’s production facilities at WAFRA. Typical projects include gas processing plant, water injection and water treatment facilities, steam injection pilot plant and automation upgrades.

The candidates will be Senior PDMS Designers with a substantial, recent and proven track record of large onshore oil and gas, refinery or petrochemical projects and should be able to demonstrate experience, in a similar and relevant senior position, of FEED and detail design work.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential.

Some travel to Kuwait and / or Mumbai, India, may be required.

The individual must be self-motivated and able to perform all stages of PDMS design and also be competent in the use of PDMS DRAFT, Review, Navisworks and AutoCAD v12.

Core Responsibilities:

Independent layout of process plant and process piping design using PDMS plant design tool with true regard to Safety and in compliance with national and Client Codes & Standards. Moreover, to be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity.
Efficient interpretation of Clients, Licensors, other design disciplines and suppliers information to ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Participation in internal and external design reviews.
Specific Accountabilities to include some or all of:

Efficiently executing PDMS and other CAD design activities as directed by the Project Lead Piping Engineer.
Ensure that the applicable company systems are used, that the relevant QA procedures and standards are followed and that the piping and layout design within his area of responsibility conforms to contract specific requirements and any applicable Client, company, national and international standards, design codes and legislation and raise deviations where necessary.
Complete all work within the estimated manhour budget and in a timely manner to ensure that project deadlines are me, maintaining own work progress (budget and schedule) and identifying scope change where necessary.
Liaise with Clients, Licensors, other design disciplines and suppliers on technical and other piping design matters on a regular basis and in a professional manner
Working accurately and always within the provisions and guidelines of the Company Quality Assurance system or that relevant to the Project.
Safety – responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Project. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
PDMS (essential)

AVEVA Draft (preferred)
AutoCAD (preferred)
Significant experience in Oil & Gas FEED and EPC Design Projects in a similar role and with similar design Clients and Design Contractors.
Broad expertise in process plant layout, pipework design, fabrication and erection, health, safety and environmental issues with some site experience and proven track record PDMS Plant Design.
Proven decision making and problem solving abilities
Proven record of client satisfaction
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of academic qualifications.
Duration 12-18 months
