The Company:
Our client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas industry.

The Role:
Our client is currently seeking a Petroleum Engineer (PE) frac specialist with Tight Gas fraccing expertise to be the lead PE during a 2011- 2012 frac campaign in Algeria. The position would be office-based in London, with 10-20% of time spent travelling to the base in Algeria and the frac sites.

The PE would report to the Reservoir Management Manager and would also work closely with both the New Wells Delivery and Wells/ Drilling and Completion teams to inform frac design options, the acquisition of subsurface data, guidance during operational difficulties, and both real-time and post-frac result interpretation.

The PE would be expected to have very strong communication and written skills, and be able to convey messages across a cross-disciplinary/ cross-functional set of teams. The PE would be expected to compile lessons’ learned from the present frac campaign to inform and optimise future well design options and future frac operations and data acquisition programmes.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• An extensive technical background in petroleum engineering along with experience with appraisal planning and field operations related to large tight gas fields.
• Experience tight gas frac technology applications, including frac planning and completion design and well test programmes
• Experience planning appraisal wells, well tests and surveillance programs
• Experience planning the acquisition and interpretation of field appraisal data including PBUs, PVT, production logs.
• Knowledge of the reservoir and production engineering tools required to support the depletion planning process and understanding of how they can be used to predict well performance and field development production profiles. Key engineering tools should include Prosper, PIE, and Gas3D.
• Exposure to major integrated facility and drilling projects.
• A proactive approach to HSSE
• Experience in working with Joint Ventures or multicultural environment a plus
• French-speaking/ reading skills a plus
