The Role:
The post is based at Ras Shukheir, rotating out of your home-country on a schedule of 21-days-on and 21-days-off (28/28 is also possible), 7-day work week.

The open position is for a Senior Petroleum Engineer Department Head in the GOS District Engineering Team which reports to the District Engineering Assistant General Manager (AGM). The Senior PE will lead and work with GUPCO petroleum engineering national staff and coordinate this team's work activities with production, drilling and the reservoir management teams.

The SR PE will occasionally sit in for the AGM, as required. Given that GUPCO is a joint venture requiring both shareholders approval for all activity, the ability to influence through persuasion and relationships is essential to being successful in this position. Team work and building effective relationships with shareholder expats and national counterparts are critical skills.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Main responsibilities of the Senior PE include:
- Workover interventions: Opportunity identification, design and implementation in coordination with production, drilling and reservoir management teams.
- Production Loss Management: Daily monitoring of production and injection volumes and establishing actions to eliminate these losses.
- Production Engineering Team Leader: Provide supervision for a staff of 10 national petroleum engineers and ensure satisfactory quality and timeliness of all their work. Also act as a technical mentor.
- Production Optimization with emphasis well rate testing, allocation, and IGOR sorting
- Artificial lift: Design and implementation of mostly gas lift and a few ESP installations. And also, surveillance, well diagnostics, problem solving,
- Well Integrity Management: Lead efforts to monitor and troubleshoot well integrity issues, provide technical advice and subsequently influence the required action plans to be carried out by production and drill
