The Role:
BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direction of the General Manager, conducts reservoir, production, and facilities studies to evaluate reserves and identify value-adding options in reservoir management and production optimization in both current and new opportunities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Collects and analyzes all pertinent subsurface geologic data including logs, sample, pressure, test and production performance data.

2. Monitors operator’s daily / monthly production reports and updates company’s production forecasts and reserves data.

3. Monitors operator’s daily drilling reports during drilling operations.

4. Monitors operator’s reservoir management, production, and facilities programs, participates in joint studies and teams, and recommends reservoir and production optimization ideas to management and to operator.

5. Reviews operator’s annual budget and work program and makes recommendations to management.

6. Coordinates with Geologist to make detailed oil and gas reserves assessments of company’s held interests and coordinates with third party reserves certifiers when required.

7. As part of a multi-disciplined team, reviews and evaluates new venture opportunities offered through bid round, farm-out and asset sales. Reviews and assesses existing reserves reports. Makes participation and value recommendations to management.

8. Assesses production operations risks and alerts management to potential liabilities.

9. Ensures understanding of technical issues by management, Board of Directors and governmental authorities through reports and presentations.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

B. Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field and minimum of 15 years professional experience in petroleum engineering is required. The successful candidate will have had significant experience utilizing well test results in making reserves determinations and/or conducting reservoir management projects. Proficiency in English is required and previous work experience in a multi-national oil & gas company is recommended. Strong team skills, communication skills and self-motivation will be expected.
