The Role:
As a senior petrophysicist in one of the GSU-FES EMEA project teams you will contribute to the petrophysical work content and quality of the study, including the transfer to and acceptance of the work by the customer.
1. You will provide all petrophysics input in a team working on pre-DG3 development studies. Such a team consists of GSNL-UD staff from both subsurface and surface discipline.
2. Frequent stakeholder engagement is required both with the OUs, NOV organisations, JV partners and the Shell New Business Group. These engagements occasional require visits to the customers.
3. As part of your role you will be expected to keep abreast of new technology developments in R&D, which will enable you to stimulate implementation of appropriate new technologies into GSNL-FES projects.
Key elements of the job will include the following:
(1) Provide study support to the integrated team, including e.g. fully integrated interpretation of log / core & other well data, following relevant data / interpretations through into the (3D) sub-surface static and dynamic models, defining associated key uncertainties / risks & opportunities, core analysis & reservoir surveillance programmes, Value of Information - where appropriate.
(2) Provide operational PP support (this pending operational engagement of the relevant project team).
(3) Participate in project framing exercises, discipline and integrated peer reviews, and presenting ops/study progress / results to customers at regular milestone meetings.
(4) Pursue application of appropriate (new) evaluation (& data acquisition) technologies (where appropriate).
(5) Facilitate frequent communication with peers in your team and other GSNL FES teams, such that opportunities for synergy, knowledge & technology transfer are realized.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geology or equivalent technical subject
2. 12+ years experience of relevant discipline with considerable exposure to conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
3. Recognized as technical authority in own discipline
4. Strong team player
5. Effective communicator; experienced & effective coach/mentor
6. High degree of achievement drive and initiative
7. A sound grasp of the latest PP technologies.
8. Hands-on experience with reservoir modeling and integrated, cross-discipline workflows.
9. Skilled in data QA/QC, data upscaling and assessment of data and model uncertainties.
10. Exposure to Value of Information methodology.
11. Experience in a Region, including involvement in the formulation, construction and execution of field development plans and participation in integrated field studies and reservoir modeling work.
12. Knowledge of well and reservoir surveillance and operational experience is desirable.
