The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Petrophysist to join this successful team on a contract basis, based out of the CBD in Perth.

The primary objectives for this role are;

• Undertake petrophysical studies, analyses and other related activities contributing to petroleum exploration activities as a member of the Australia Ventures - Exploration team, and
developing the Company’s exploration portfolio by providing petrophysical support for geological and geophysical studies, new ventures evaluation and drilling.
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
• Support the effective implementation of the office safety management system including participation in emergency drills and procedures as required.
• Petrophysical interpretation of well (and geophysical) data from within the companies operations, joint ventured permits and broader regional area of interest.
• Preparation of predrill planning for well evaluation and involvement in tendering and contractor engagement, involvement in relevant aspects of well design.
• QC of ongoing well logging services, formation evaluation during and post-drill; documentation of results.
• Oversight and maintenance of log database.
• Participation in evaluation of new venture opportunities as required, attend data reviews, provide reports, analyses and advice to the Manager Exploration Geophysics or Geology and/or GM Exploration.
• Attend Operated and non-operated JV meetings where required, with report and advice to the Manager Exploration Geophysics or Geology and/or GM Exploration.
• Contribute to the creation and peer reviewing of initiatives and projects underway in the Exploration team.
• Plan, lead and supervise studies by external contractors in relevant fields.
• Compile presentations and contribute to discussions with Regulator and JV’s.
• Preparation of technical submissions and documents to management and JVP's.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the structure and systems within, and the ethos of, the Exploration team.
• Assist the Manager Exploration Geophysics/Geology and/or GM Exploration in designing implementing and managing budgets and work programs for each project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

• A Bachelor of Science (Geophysics or Geology) or similar related geoscience degree.
• An ability to undertake integrate petrophysical results with geophysical and geological concepts to develop and promote plays and opportunities for drilling.
• The role requires an up-to-date appreciation of the latest petrophysical techniques, with a high level of skill in petrophysical analysis.
• At least 12 – 15 years in the petroleum exploration industry.
• Ability to understand and integrate data from various geoscience disciplines.
