The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their LNG mega-project in Western Canada.
This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.
The Role:
• Work in a multi-discipline environment to oversee design (FEED and detailed design) of a major capital project in a pipeline engineering role with significant LNG plant and compression facility design interfaces.
• Coordinate project execution including interfacing with construction engineers, field construction personnel, production/ operations engineers, field production/operations personnel, 3rd party EPCM companies, material, service, construction contractors, etc.
• Responsible for project execution, including supporting AFE development, DBM development, design assurance reviews, cost estimating, design development, procurement, construction, Risk Analysis, Quality Assurance, Safety, project cost control and tracking, scheduling, reporting, etc.;
• Provide expertise and technical support with planning and executing concurrent ‘fit for purpose’ facility and pipeline engineering.
• Maintain engineering standards, specifications, procedures and related records
• Work with operations and construction to identify and resolve operational and construction issues
• Provide cost estimates, risk analysis activities and cost benefit analysis. Raise AFEs as needed
• Identify optimization, efficiency and operating cost reduction opportunities
• Support a working environment that strives to meet PTP EH&S objectives
• Periodic travel to field locations during design phases
• Potential stationing in field locations during construction phases
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• B.Sc. degree in Engineering
• APEGA membership
• 10+ years experience in the design and construction of midstream and transmission pipelines, especially gas transmission pipelines
• Previous experience installing and operating large diameter pipeline in mountainous terrain is an asset
• Operations and management experience of oil and gas production, transmission and gathering systems is an asset
• Some knowledge of gas compression facilities design and/or gas processing facilities design is an asset
• Knowledgeable in regulatory standards and industry best practices, i.e., OGC & ERCB regulations, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, etc.
• Knowledge of pipeline design, construction, and operations in midstream gas transportation and compression
• Understanding of climate local to the project (interior to coastal British Columbia)
• Team player with strong communication and problem solving skills
• Takes responsibility for tasks, produces results
• Strong multi-tasker
