Our client is a leader within the energy services business operating across the Power industries. Through innovation they support & enhance the service life of energy assets across the world.

The Role:
Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Piping Engineer to join their Bristol Office. This role is a full-time, permanent position.

As a Piping Engineer you will have knowledge and understanding of ASME B31.1, B31.3, BS806 and related standards and must have experience of using PSA5 or Autopipe software. The role will be responsible for providing efficient and cost effective pipe design engineering support to the Bristol Office.

The ideal candidate will possess:

A good understanding of ASME B31.1, B31.3, BS806 and related standards.
A good knowledge of HS&E legislation related to products and services.
A good knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000 series and Quality standards related to products and services.
A strong working knowledge and understanding of PED and its application.
A strong knowledge of PSA5 is essential.
The ability to effectively apply application of product codes and standards.
Strong communications skills
The ability to provide effective technical reports and document management.
Good PC skills.

Key duties include:

Conducting detailed pipe modelling, stress analysis, c/w seismic assessment, supporting assessments including spring support specification.
Conducting verification of subcontractor design work, such as calculations, computer models and drawings.
Estimation of bills of quantities and site surveys in response to client enquiries.
Working with the branch and HQ engineers, site installation and proposal teams from client enquiry through to project implementation regarding mechanical pipe design aspects.
Producing Pipe Material Technical Specifications and Pipe Design Specifications.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical engineering with pipe design components.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
BSc or a BEng Mechanical Engineering with pipe design components
Engineering Council Registered Engineer
